Career Outside the Cube is pleased to offer a series of workshops to compliment the counseling and coaching provided by campus career centers. These workshops are designed to be relevant to current economic, and industry trends that impact the internship and job search of college undergraduates and MBA students. The focus of these sessions is also on helping students distinguish themselves with employers so they can increase their probability of receiving job offers. These 90-minute workshops include:

Humpty Dumpty on Wall St – Now that investment banking careers on Wall St. are a thing of the past, what industries and functions offer the top opportunities, and where will there be job growth in future years?

How To Work A Career Fair – What should students expect from a career fair and how can they be used as a powerful tool for maximizing exposure to recruiters and for developing a network?

You Are The Product – How can students develop a customized marketing plan to distinguish themselves from other job candidates, and win the offer?

Network Power - According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 70 percent of all jobs are found through networking. What is networking and how can it be used to help students find jobs? How do you build a network and maintain it?

Social Networking Do’s and Don’ts – Social networking is becoming an increasingly powerful tool for finding jobs and networking. This seminar will discuss strategies for utilizing the most popular social networking sites such as FaceBook, LinkedIn and Twitter for job searches and networking.

Back To Work – The declining economy is forcing moms and dads who have taken time off to raise a family back into the work force much sooner than they had hoped. This workshop will cover strategies for re-entering the work force and for dealing with the obvious question of work interruption.

Workshops on industry specific topics such as careers in healthcare, technology, consulting and not-for-profit, as well as customized presentations are available upon request.
